By submitting data to South Coast Wine Academy, you are authorising South Coast Wine Academy to process data in accordance with this policy. South Coast Wine Academy must adhere to these rules in relation to how we handle any personal data, which we obtain from you. Any personal information gathered will only be used in the context of the wine education, training and events, or subscription wine club services / activity that you undertake with us.

Whilst any Personal Information that we use to provide or promote our services to you will not be passed to any third-party organisation for marketing purposes, on occasion your details may be shared by South Coast Wine Academy’ approved contractors or agents, in order to inform you and / or produce relevant services.

This information is used to respond to your request for information on how we can potentially assist with your booked event or course.

Social Media: Information that you provide to us on our Social Media pages, such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

Order details: Information that you provide in relation to an order or a product you have purchased.

Transaction details: Details of transactions which you carry out with us (whether through our website, mobile phone, or otherwise) and of the fulfilment of your orders (i.e. address or delivery details).

WSET (Wines Sprits Education Trust): require information for you to sit their exams and courses, we collect this information and pass it to them – details in relation to the WSET Privacy Policy are noted above.

We will provide the same protections in respect of any electronic communications received from you as those employed in respect of information received by post and telephone.

South Coast Wine Academy (www.southcoastwineacademy.com.au) company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

Data Protection Arrangements

South Coast Wine Academy has the following procedures in place to safeguard data collected by it as an approved provider of WSET awards:

All South Coast Wine Academy staff, students, APPs and educators have access to this policy;

Data collected by South Coast Wine Academy is not used for marketing purposes or shared with third parties;

Where South Coast Wine Academy sends email correspondence to multiple recipients, recipients will be blind-copied.

All South Coast Wine Academy staff members are required to inform students of how their data will be processed for the purposes of registration and certification of a WSET qualification;

Forms which require the collection of personal or sensitive personal data include a data protection statement from South Coast Wine Academy informing individuals about how their data will be processed;

No personal data is disclosed to any other parties outside of those noted in this policy without the prior written consent of the individual;

Access to personal information on the South Coast Wine Academy and WSET Awards database is restricted to authorised users;

All records are kept accurate and up-to-date as far as practicable; South Coast Wine Academy relies on individuals and APPs to communicate any changes.

In the event of any unauthorised use of data or data loss, the individuals concerned will be notified and a recovery plan implemented.

For us to provide you with products and services, we on occasion share some of your personal information with certain approved third parties. These include examiners, suppliers and regulatory bodies.
