South Coast Wine Academy is required to comply with privacy and data protection laws. This policy sets out principles we will apply when handling individuals’ personal information. By submitting data to South Coast Wine Academy, you are authorising South Coast Wine Academy to process data in accordance with this policy. South Coast Wine Academy must adhere to these rules in relation to how we handle any personal data, which we obtain from you. Any personal information gathered will only be used in the context of the wine education, training and events, or subscription wine club services / activity that you undertake with us.
South Coast Wine Academy may also collect sensitive personal data relating to you but only with your explicit consent in advance. We may process all the information we obtain from you to enable us to fulfil our contractual obligations to you and we may request further information from third parties or disclose your details to other selected third parties.

Whilst any Personal Information that we use to provide or promote our services to you will not be passed to any third-party organisation for marketing purposes, on occasion your details may be shared by South Coast Wine Academy’ approved contractors or agents, in order to inform you and / or produce relevant services.

What Information we collect about you and how it is used:

This information is used to respond to your request for information on how we can potentially assist with your booked event or course.

WSET (Wines Sprits Education Trust): require information for you to sit their exams and courses, we collect this information and pass it to them – details in relation to the WSET Privacy Policy are noted above.
We will provide the same protections in respect of any electronic communications received from you as those employed in respect of information received by post and telephone.

Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.
Data Protection Arrangements

South Coast Wine Academy has the following procedures in place to safeguard data collected by it as an approved provider of WSET awards:

All South Coast Wine Academy staff, students, APPs and educators have access to this policy;

Data collected by South Coast Wine Academy is not used for marketing purposes or shared with third parties;

Where South Coast Wine Academy sends email correspondence to multiple recipients, recipients will be blind-copied.

All South Coast Wine Academy staff members are required to inform students of how their data will be processed for the purposes of registration and certification of a WSET qualification;

Forms which require the collection of personal or sensitive personal data include a data protection statement from South Coast Wine Academy informing individuals about how their data will be processed;

No personal data is disclosed to any other parties outside of those noted in this policy without the prior written consent of the individual;

Access to personal information on the South Coast Wine Academy and WSET Awards database is restricted to authorised users;
